How do I get 911 Emergency Service?

You must register your current US address online during the initial registration process. (Please note- If you travel or relocate, it is the responsibility of the end user to update their account including their 911 service area). You will receive a confirmation email that your 911 service address has been registered.

With USB Phone, 911 Emergency Service:

1. IS FREE and available anywhere in the United States.
2. WILL NOT be accessible during an Internet or electrical power disruption and/or outage.
3. WILL NOT function if you have disabled your USB Phone Service.
4. MAY BE subjected to the limitations of the emergency response systems within your service area.

Are 411 calls free?

All 411 directory assistance calls are free of charge.

ACCESSORIES

Can my USB Phone line use Bluetooth accessories?

You can use any Bluetooth headset provided that your computer recognizes Bluetooth products as a sound device. Simply choose the "Switch to Headset" option on the USB Phone Service menu.

Do I need a headset to use USB Phone Service?

USB Phone Service can be accessed using your current home phone.

BILLING

Will I ever receive a monthly bill?

No. There are no monthly fees with USB Phone Service.

Do I have to pay any Federal, State, local taxes or fees with USB Phone Service?

No. There are no extra charges with USB Phone Service.

When is my annual renewal fee due?

Your renewal fee is due on the one year anniversary of your account’s creation. An invoice will be sent to your email address on file. In order to avoid any service interruption, please keep our records’ of your email address up to date.

COMPATIBILITY

What type of internet service should I have?

We recommend using your new USB Phone Service with our Galaxy Residential DSL lines. However, any of the following options will also work with your new service: Broadband, Cable Internet, and Wi-Fi.

Will USB Phone Service work with Dialup Internet service?

No. Dial up Internet service will not provide enough bandwidth for USB Phone Service.

Will USB Phone Service work with wireless broadband?

Yes. USB Phone Service can work with all wireless broadband. However, we recommend using your new USB Phone Service with our Galaxy Residential DSL line.

Will USB Phone Service work with Satellite Internet service like Dish Network?

No. USB Phone Service will not work with Satellite Internet.

Will USB Phone Service work with Cable Internet service?

Yes. USB Phone Service will work with Cable modems with signal strength of at least 80 kbps of bandwidth. However, we recommend using your new USB Phone Service with our Galaxy Residential DSL line.

Does my USB Phone Service have Caller ID?

Yes. USB Phone Service will display the name and number of the person calling you. Parties with caller ID will see only your telephone number when you place calls to them.

Does my USB Phone Service have Call Waiting?

Yes. Press the Flash button on your telephone to switch between calls.

Does my USB Phone Service have 3-way calling?

USB Phone Service supports 3-way calling for incoming calls. Follow these easy instructions:

1. Ask both parties to place calls to you.
2. While one call is active and the other on hold, press ## to begin your 3-way call.
3. Press #* when you are ready to end the call. What number or name will people see on their caller ID on a call from me? Parties receiving calls from you will see only your ten-digit USB Phone Number.

What system requirements are needed to use your new USB Phone Service?

1. You will need a computer with Windows XP, Vista or an Intel Based MAC operating system.
2. You will need a high-speed internet connection. We recommend using your new USB Phone Service with our Galaxy Residential DSL line. However, the phone service will work with other high-speed Internet connections.
3. Your will need a corded or cordless telephone.

Can I keep my existing phone number with USB Phone Service number?

Can I use USB Phone Service on MAC?

Yes. USB Phone Service will work with Intel-based MAC operating systems.

Does my computer need to be on to use my USB Phone Service?

Yes. You also need an active Internet connection.
